The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing our understanding of entrepreneurship, fostering entrepreneurial thinking among students, and contributing to the growth and development of entrepreneurial ventures. Responsibilities

  • Conduct cutting-edge research in the field of entrepreneurship, with a focus on topics such as new venture creation, opportunity recognition, social entrepreneurship, innovation ecosystems, and venture financing.
  • Publish research findings in top-tier academic journals and present work at conferences to enhance the reputation of the institution and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship.
  • Develop and teach graduate courses on entrepreneurship, small business management, venture capital, and innovation, utilizing innovative teaching methods and experiential learning opportunities to engage students and foster entrepreneurial skills.
  • Mentor and supervise graduate students, providing guidance and support in their research projects and entrepreneurial endeavours.
  • Collaborate with industry partners, start-up accelerators, and entrepreneurship organizations to provide students with real-world exposure, networking opportunities, and experiential learning experiences.
  • Engage with the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem through participation in events, competitions, and networking forums to stay current on emerging trends and contribute to the growth of the local and regional entrepreneurial community.
  • Contribute to the academic leadership and administration of the Business School through involvement in departmental activities, committees, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. in Business Administration, Management, Entrepreneurship, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A strong record of scholarly research and publication in top-tier academic journals, with expertise in entrepreneurship theory and practice.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the graduate level, with a commitment to innovative pedagogy and experiential learning.
  • Experience in mentoring graduate students and supervising research projects related to entrepreneurship and new venture creation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in entrepreneurship, venture capital, or start-up management is desirable but not required.
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in research, teaching, and service.
