Prof. Abiola Babajide

Abiola Ayopo Babajide, Ph.D. is a Professor of Finance and the immediate past Dean of the College of Management and Social Science, Covenant University, Ota. She earned her first degree in Economics from Lagos State University, Ojo; her Master’s in Banking and Finance from Bayero University, Kano; and her Doctorate degree in Finance from Covenant University, Ota.

She served as the MD/CEO of the Covenant Microfinance Bank between 2016-2017 and the Managing Director/Business Manager of the Strategic Business Unit, the IGR arm of the University, between 2015-2016. She was also a member of the Board of Directors, Covenant Microfinance Bank (2014-2018) and Member, Membership Committee, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (2015-2016).

Professor Babajide has over 100 journal articles published in high-impact journals. She has also served as editor and reviewer to many international high-impact journals, such as Sage Open, International Journal of Economic and Management, Africa Development Review, and Africa Spectrum. She is an External Examiner to DeMonforte University, Business School, Leicester, UK; University of New England, Australia; University of Forte Hare, South Africa; and University of South Africa, Pretoria, South Africa.
She is a member of the American Finance Association and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
