James Hope University Successfully Holds Its First Matriculation Ceremony, Inducting 132 Post Graduate Students
James Hope University (JHU) is proud to announce the successful completion of its Maiden Matriculation Ceremony, held on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the University Auditorium in Lekki, Lagos.
This historic event marked the official induction of our pioneer students into the JHU community. The ceremony featured the matriculation oath, inspiring remarks from university leadership, and moments that highlighted our commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and the holistic development of our students.
Vice-Chancellor Emphasizes Pioneer Role
Speaking during the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of James Hope University, Prof. Austin Nosike, noted that the event did not only represent a milestone in the institution’s growth but was the beginning of academic life for the first generation of students, who will carry the JHU identity into the wider world.
Prof. Nosike highlighted what the successful maiden matriculation demonstrates:
Increasing recognition of the University’s academic offerings.
High market relevance of JHU’s post-graduate programmes.
Strong interest in industry-aligned programmes such as Finance, Economic Development, and Innovation.
“The matriculation signals a strong beginning for James Hope University’s academic journey, while highlighting the University’s commitment to producing innovative leaders and contributing to national development through post-graduate education,” Prof. Nosike emphasized.
The matriculants comprised 74 students for the 2024/2025 session and 58 students for the 2025/2026 session (September intake).
Keynote Speakers Inspire the New Cohort
The ceremony featured distinguished speakers who set the intellectual tone for the new academic year:
Mrs. Ganiyat Taiwo Olusesi, Chartered Secretary and Lawyer, delivered a lecture titled, “Creating a constructive shift in the Nigerian economy through workforce innovation,” focusing on the strategic importance of human capital.
Mr. Ina Alogwu, a leader in digital innovation and venture building, spoke on the theme: “Understanding the intricacies of entrepreneurship in the dynamic ecosystem of the Nigerian economy,” providing valuable insights into the Nigerian entrepreneurial landscape.

The students were inducted across various Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science (M.Sc.) programmes:
