THE JHU EXECUTIVE MBA CURRICULUM
The JHU Executive MBA curriculum provides a comprehensive program for experienced professionals, covering core business foundations, leadership development, global business, specializations, ethics, and sustainability. It includes immersive experiences, networking opportunities, and executive coaching, all designed to foster transformational leaders capable of positively impacting their organizations and industries.
Pre-Programme
- Events scheduled for prior to the start of classes will let you expand your network by engaging and socializing with industry leaders, JHU faculty, and your future classmates.
- Required review sessions in accounting, economics, math, and statistics will also be held during this period.

The core curriculum begins with foundational management courses. As the programme progresses, you will focus on specific topics that will apply to real business situations and problems.

Dissertation - 6 Credits
Your capstone serves as the culminating experiential activity during which you put together all the concepts and professional activities learned and engaged in throughout the programme. This will result in producing a final MBA project.
Entry Requirement
Applicants to the James Hope Business School postgraduate programmes are required to possess an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a strong academic record. JHBS admits graduates from all recognized universities to its postgraduate programmes provided that they satisfy the requirements stipulated below.
Admissions Requirements
- Candidates must have at least five (5) credit passes in WASC, SSCE/GCE, NECO, or their equivalent, including English and Mathematics, in line with the National Universities Commission (NUC) minimum admission standards.
- Applicants with a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) must possess a minimum of a first degree or HND (Merit Pass) with at least a Credit-level pass in relevant areas.
- Applicants from recognized universities or other higher institutions must have a good first degree (minimum of Second-Class Lower Division) in related disciplines to qualify for admission.
- Nigerian applicants must submit an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate in compliance with national regulations.
- Degrees obtained from foreign institutions must be evaluated by the Federal Ministry of Education.
- English Proficiency Requirement (for Non-Native Speakers).
- Applicants whose native language is not English may be required to submit official TOEFL (minimum score of 90 iBT), IELTS (minimum score of 6.5), or an equivalent test result.
- James Hope University may take registered students of higher degrees from other universities on transfer if they meet all conditions for entry to the MBA or M.Sc. programmes.

- Official transcripts from previous academic institutions. Unofficial transcripts may be submitted with your application; once admitted, official transcripts should be sent directly to James Hope University from the issuing institution prior to registration (provisional acceptance may be granted pending official submission).
- A professional resume that provides evidence of work experience.
- Executive MBA applicants should provide work experience in a mid- to senior-manager role. Ideally, they have managed people, worked internationally, held P&L responsibilities, and hold a proven management track record in the public or private sector.
- Professional MBA applicants should provide evidence of 3-5 years of work experience.
- No prior work experience is required for Full-time MBA or M.Sc. programmes.
- A personal statement that discusses your career goals, your interest in the programme and your perspective on how the James Hope University degree will help you achieve your goals.
- National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or Exemption Certificate
- Three professional recommendation letters. Applicants can proceed to complete their applications by providing three academic or professional referees.
