Babafemi Olayemi

Babafemi Olayemi is currently the Bursar of James Hope University. A seasoned accounting professional with 20 years of progressive experience in auditing, financial reporting, taxation, financial management, compliance, and forensic accounting. His extensive track record includes delivering accurate financial statements, internal control & risk management, streamlining processes, strategic growth & innovation, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Babafemi has also gained valuable experience working with Lagos Business School (LBS) as the head, transaction control and compliance, and also worked with Hedge Securities and Investments Company Limited as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). With his passion for auditing, investigation, taxation, and forensics, he gained working experience from Ijewere & Co. (Chartered Accountants & Tax Advisers) as Audit and Tax Manager, BSM Frank & Co. (Chartered Accountants & Tax Advisers) as Business Development Manager, and Ayorinde Thomas & Co. (Chartered Accountants & Tax Advisers) as Audit Senior & Tax Consultant.

In February and June 2017, he led the reviewer team on the Monitoring and Evaluation of Fiscal Sustainability Plan (FSP)/Budget Support Plan (BSP) for Kwara State, assigned by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF). Between July and September 2016, he led the reviewer team on “Procurement Activities” of the Process Audit of Industrial Training Fund (ITF), assigned by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF) and the Federal Ministry of Finance.

He is proficient in managing full-cycle accounting functions, leading audits, driving budgeting and forecasting processes, managing risk and cost control. He is a trusted advisor with a reputation for integrity, reliability, and excellence in financial stewardship.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ACA 2008, FCA 2025), a certified Forensic Accountant of Nigeria (CFAN), and an associate member of, Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), AMNIM.
